[SC2] Can you use mod's with out MM? (mod manager)

Hello,
I was wondering if there is an alternate way to use mod's, other than with the mod manager.
Thanks.|||Uh, yes? All the mod manager does is copy .scds into gamedata.
All you need to make a 'mod' is a folder in gamedata with an .scd extension. That's it.|||I believe i may have misspoken. My apologies.
What i mean is how would i go about using, lets say, the ECO mod, do i simply put it in the game data folder?
It seems like when i try, nothing happens, but then again i am using the 360 version :)
I'm open to suggestions.|||Well, did you read the thread? That would tell you that you at least need the Mod Support mod.
And to use the Mod Support mod, you need the DLC installed and enabled. I don't know if the 360 DLC is the same as the PC DLC, or if you even have the 360 DLC - if you don't, then you can't use the MSM and thus most current mods unless you modify it to work without the DLC.
If you're interested, it would be possible to modify the support mod to work with a lua.scd repack rather than using the DLC - basically put the support mod's .scd into gamedata, and replace your lua.scd's simInit.lua, sessionInit.lua, and RuleInit.lua with the ones from /mods/DLC1/shadow in the support mod's .scd.
However, plenty of mods require the DLC because they modify DLC units and/or depend on DLC code. This modification would let you use the eco mod, my small mods (massive conversion and slow research), and that's about it.|||:( I tried it and the game froze right before launching a skirmish match.|||Tried what? Gotta give a lot more info. Do you have the DLC? If so, is there a z_lua_dlc1.scd? Or did you try to copy the init files over?
If the latter, make sure you do a compare of the originals in lua.scd and the ones in the mod support .scd, to make sure the only difference is the commented code I added.
Edit: You'll also have to do the same with all of the other files in mod support's /mods/DLC1/shadow folder, including /lua/ui/game/Commands/orderstable.lua.|||Okay, ill try this method and get back at you.
Thanks.
